About Garrett F. Duffy
When you hear the term “Mortgage Loan Officer,” you probably don’t think of a knee-slapping good time. However, Garrett F. Duffy is trying to change that. Garrett, also known as “The Mortgage Musician,” hails from Narragansett, Rhode Island and it is safe to say that he is not your average Mortgage Loan Officer.
After graduating from St. Michaels College in Burlington, Vermont with a degree in Business Administration, Garrett did the next logical thing… he picked up a harmonica and joined a band. His independent band (called Barefoot Truth) traveled the country, put out 7 original albums, and amassed over 30 million plays on Pandora. With his touring years behind him and two additional solo albums under his belt, Garrett began his career as a Mortgage Loan Officer.
One day, a friend recommended that Garrett use his music to promote his mortgage career. A few days later Garrett had recorded a video parody of Tom Petty’s Free Fallin’… changing the lyrics to Pre-Quallin’… and the rest is history. While taking a humorous, yet educational approach, Garrett has released multiple “Mortgage Musician” videos that have been viewed online over 200,000 times. His “don’t take yourself too seriously” attitude, coupled with his extensive mortgage lending knowledge, have helped him become one of the best and most trusted Mortgage Loan Officers in New England.
While Garrett is not afraid to laugh at himself, he takes his job and his clients’ finances very seriously. He is honest, empathetic, and committed to helping his customers reach their mortgage goals. Garrett is a proponent of the saying “It is not what you COULD afford, it is what you SHOULD afford.” He emphasizes that buying or refinancing a home should fit one’s budget and lifestyle goals. Everyone’s financial situation is different.
It is important to work with a lender who can explain your options and calmly guide you through the mortgage process. Garrett looks forward to working with you and making you smile along the way!
